A serious road accident in Karol Bagh early Wednesday resulted in the deaths of two passengers and injuries to more than 20 others after a double-decker bus overturned near the Jhandewalan Temple.
The bus was travelling from Jaipur to Delhi with around 25 passengers onboard when the accident occurred. Authorities received a distress call at about 1:08 am, following which police, fire services, and rescue teams reached the location without delay.
Emergency responders carried out rescue operations to extract injured passengers and provide immediate assistance. Victims were taken to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where doctors are monitoring their condition.
Officials suspect that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn, though the exact reason remains unclear. A detailed investigation has been initiated to determine accountability.
The accident comes amid growing concerns over road safety, especially following a recent fatal crash on the Yamuna Expressway, highlighting the need for stricter safety measures.
